Ruth Orabel Russell, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at St. Joe Hospital. Born in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter to the late Willie and Delphie Stewart. She was a retired hairdresser. In her retirement she remained very active in her community and Pilgrim Baptist Church.
She will be missed by her; sisters, Lillian (Robert) Charlton of Fort Wayne and Willie Mae Freeman of Detroit, Michigan; nephews, Ralph Charlton and Robert (Annie) Jackson both of Fort Wayne; several great nephews and nieces and a special thanks to her great niece, Trina Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Robert Russell, in 1987; sister, Carolyn Stewart; and brother, Jimmy "Buddy" Stewart.
Funeral Service is 1 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Rev. Sam Shade officiating. She will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
