Samuel "Sam" W. Gladding, 91, died Monday August 13, 2012. He was born June 26, 1921 in Fowler, IN to the late George and Georgia Stults. He retired in 1982 from Norfolk & Southern Railroad as Brakeman / Conductor. He was a member of the Waynedale United Methodist Church, S.W. Conservation Club. He was known for his tomatos in the Waynedale area. He enjoyed golfing and with his wife, fishing. Surviving are his sons, David Leroy, George Edward (Cindy), William Laverne, Steven Scott (Tammy) Gladding, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois in 2010, 1 brother and 1 sister. Service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 18, 2012 at the Waynedale United Methodist Church 2501 Church St. with calling 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Mike Harris officiating. Calling will also be Friday 4-8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military honor will be provided by U.S. Army and American Legion Post #241.
