Sandy Lee Thompson, 77, died Friday, September 20, 2019.  She was born in Dennison, Ohio a daughter to the late Carl Garbrandt and Margaret Faye (Stewart) Garbrandt.  She was an Assistant Activities Director for University Park Nursing Home for several years.  Sandy and her husband loved to sing Karaoke; they sang in multiple venues around the country including Branson, MO and Las Vegas, NV!  Sandy especially loved old 50's country music. They traveled to Hawaii on their 25 year anniversary.  As well as traveling many other places such as Alaska, the Bahamas, and to Lake Tahoe. Their last vacation destination was to Mt. Rushmore in the beautiful black hills of South Dakota.

Sandy is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Gary Lee Thompson; son, Jay (Jodie) Thompson; step daughters, Candy (Mike) Bonanno and Jodi (Jerry) Bowser; brother, Alan Garbrandt; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" (Helen) Thompson; and nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by daughter, Dana Lyn Thompson; and a brother, Kenny Garbrandt; brother-in-law, William "Bill" (Cora) Thompson.

Funeral Service is 1 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior.  Officiating will be Pastor Rick Hawks.  Preferred memorial donations should be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
