Sharlyn J. Capps, 69 of Fort Wayne passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at home with her husband by her side. She was born on September 3, 1956, in Fort Wayne to Wayne and Doris (Roebuck) Dull. She married Rick Capps on March 20, 1976.

Sharlyn, known lovingly as “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was calm and compassionate with a listening ear, offering support and positive advice to family and friends. Sharlyn enjoyed cooking and baking for her grandchildren. She enjoyed genealogy, dancing, playing euchre and traveling. Her family meant everything to her. Some of her most cherished moments were at “cousin’s coffee”, but her grandchildren were still her favorite. She made sure that their birthdays were special. Sharlyn was the former Manager of Red Wing Shoe Store. She was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rick; children Joshua (Angie) Capps and Jordan (Patrick) Knipscheer; five grandchildren, Michael Capps, Bailee Capps, Olivia Knipscheer, Tommy Capps and Aiden Knipscheer; her mother, Doris Dull; two brothers, Kevin (Ceneida) Dull and Kent Dull. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Dull.

A celebration of life will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 28. 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
