Obituary

Sharon K. Horn Fisher, age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 31, 2026.

Sharon was born on June 11, 1944, to Howard and Myrtle Horn. She lived a life marked by resilience, strength, and a deep love for her family, friends and the simple joys of life.

She is survived by her two children, Leisha Marie Stillwell-Schunk (Don) and her son, Scott Lee Stillwell; her grandchildren, Tara Stillwell (Frank), Jo Stillwell, C.C. Stillwell, Sam Taylor, and stepson Paul Fisher; her sister, Carole Hans (Kenny); her sister-in-law, Shelvy Horn; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Myrtle Horn; her beloved husband, Sherman Fisher; and her brothers, Leonard Horn (Jean) and Norman Lee Horn.

Sharon attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In her younger years, she enjoyed beauty pageants and was a pageant winner while modeling. She worked at a bank before beginning a long career with NIPSCO, where she spent most of her working life.

Sharon spent most of her life in the Fort Wayne area before relocating to Wisconsin to be closer to family. She loved people, the outdoors, animals, flowers-especially roses, and music and dancing. She embraced life fully and experienced many adventures throughout her years. Whether the moments were joyful or difficult, she met them with determination and courage.

Five years ago, Sharon suffered her first stroke, which eventually led her to move to Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter. Maintaining her independence was important to her, and despite the challenges she faced, she continued to fight with remarkable strength and grace.

On May 25, 2026, Sharon suffered a second stroke while enjoying time outdoors with a friend, sitting on the patio, eating chocolate-three of her favorite things. She remained surrounded by the love and support of family until her passing.

Those who knew Sharon knew that life was not always easy for her. Yet she persevered through hardship with strength that inspired those around her. She loved deeply, cared for others generously, and found joy whenever she could. She was a fighter who never stopped loving people despite everything life threw at her. Her courage, kindness, and determination will be remembered by all who knew her and loved her.

Her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. They brought her purpose, happiness, and countless treasured memories.

Sharon shared a special love with her husband, Sherman. Even after his passing, she remained grateful for the years they spent together. Whether traveling, spending time outdoors, or simply sitting together, those moments remained among her most cherished memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne Indiana. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 12:00 noon. With the service to follow at 1:00 p.m.

Sharon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
