Sharon Rose (Rasp) Hatfield October 11, 1939 – October 12, 2024

Sharon Rose (Rasp) Hatfield, 85, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024. She was born on October 11, 1939, in Fort Wayne, IN, to Alfred and Dorothy (Kruse) Rasp, Sr., and was sister to Dr. Alfred Rasp, Jr. A graduate of Northside High School, she married William John Hatfield on April 21, 1962, in Fort Wayne, IN. Sharon worked at Fort Wayne National Bank/PNC for nearly 30 years where she advanced her career in management.

In her younger days, Sharon could be found cruising around Snow Lake in her boat the "Sherry R." With this same sense of adventure, she traveled extensively with her husband of 62 years throughout Europe and across the United States, from Civil War battlefields to Hawaii and the Arctic Circle.

Sharon was an avid reader and a history buff passionate about needlecraft arts and antiques. She led by example and never shied away from taking on a difficult job or rolling up her sleeves to help others. She taught her children the importance of hard work and productivity all while finding the humor in life and loving to have a good laugh. She is loved and will be missed by all.

Sharon is survived by her husband William Hatfield; children, Robert (Michelle) Hatfield of Fort Wayne, Sue Hatfield of Fort Wayne, Sheryl Hatfield of Bloomingdale, Illinois, and Shelly (John) Ayers of Armada, Michigan; grandchildren, Eric Farris, Drew Hatfield, and Jack Ayers. Her parents and granddaughter Rose Ann Hatfield predecease her.
