Sharon L. Stier, 81, died Monday February 20, 2012. Born April 8, 1930 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Hallie B. and Mary Elizabeth Weigel. Sharon worked 14 years in food Marketing for Peter Eckrich. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for American Legion Post #499. Surviving are children, Michael J. (Teresa) Stier, Roanoke, IN, Patricia L. (Roger Blackman) Bloom, Yoder, IN, Julia A. (Steve) Werling, Hudson, IN, Elizabeth A. (David) Fortney, Ft. Wayne, IN, Connie (Jeff) Dawley, Maumee, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Halley, Zachary, Nicholas, Erica, Jeorgia, Justin, 5 great-grandchildren, Tate, Elliot, Colten, Jordyn, Justin and family friend, Doe Bell. She was preceded in death by her former husband Donald "Joe" Stier, grandson, Adam Stier and a sister, Jackie Meeks. Services are 11 a.m. Friday February 24, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. There is also calling Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
