Sharon Ann Van Zant, 69, of Fort Wayne, passed on Monday, November 21, 2011 at home with her family by her side. Born in Whitley County, she was the daughter to the late Ray and Violet Perkins. She retired from Holland Elementary School after 20 years of service.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Larry Van Zant; daughters, Laureena (Hammad) Shah of Fort Washington, Maryland and Angela Van Zant of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, George and Robert Perkins; sisters, Carol Abel and Peggy Bandielier; and two, grandsons, Sulaman and Kamran.
Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Calling is also Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice or Riley''s Children''s Hospital.
