Shirley A. Klaehn, 78, went home to her Lord Sunday June 12, 2016. She was born May 15, 1938 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Weldon and Dorothy (Thomas) Howell. Shirley was a member of the East Allen County Church of Christ and a fan of Southern Gospel Music.

Surviving are her husband Donald Klaehn, 5 children, Debbie (Pat) Connelly, Melody (Michael) Mock, Daniel (Nancy) Klaehn, Dawn Klaehn, Michael (DeWayne Richardson) Akins, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson and 1 sister, Judy (Charles) Fiorenza. Shirley was preceded in death by a son Matthew Akins and a brother Terry Howell.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 17, 2016 at the East Allen County Church of Christ 3800 Minnick Rd. New Haven, IN, with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Thursday June 16, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Church or Parkview Hospice.
