Stella Lucille Jackson, 87, passed on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Coventry Meadows. Born in Marion, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie Mansfield. She settled in Fort Wayne and then retired from Lutheran Hospital and then went to work for Lutheran Day Care.

She is survived by son Claude R. Jackson of Fort Wayne; step son, Gary Jackson of Chicago; six grandchildren, Sheila Shaw, Tambra Jackson, Zuri Jackson, Jamila Jackson, Claude C. Jackson and Dustin Jackson; and seven sweet great grandchildren, Miles, Michyl, Isis, Demetrius, Kaliq, Shani and Jayna.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Claude W. Jackson, in October of 2001; one brother, Joseph Mansfield; four sisters, Mary Trice, Alice Thompson, Christine Wallace and Thelma Bowie; and one step sister, Maude Faulkner.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Dupree Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1231 Hayden Street, with calling one hour prior to service. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
