Steve Moore

(Jan 28, 1941-July 19,2026)

Steve went peacefully to his Lord and his son Kyle Moore, sister Karen Carlson and many other beloved family members. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Moore of Fort Wayne; son Scott Moore and wife Alea, Grandchildren Rhea, Rhodes, Rennon of Franklin, Tennessee and grandson Tyler Moore, son of Kyle in Fort Wayne.

He graduated from Xenia High School, Xenia, Ohio, and the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

He began his work career at Magnavox in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the 70’s, he went to Western Baptist Bible College in Salem Oregon to be the Student Service Director for four years then returned to Magnavox in Fort Wayne.

He and a fellow engineer started their own company on Goshen Road called CSI (Command System Inc.). The company did hardware and software design for the military, mainly the Marine Corp. Later he worked with General Dynamics.

His work took him all over the United States, Singapore, Australia, England and New Zealand. He was always glad he was able to help the military.

Following his retirement, he bought some farm acres and a house building site off State Rd.114 in Whitley County, fulfilling his dream of always wanting to go "back to the farm” where he grew up in Ohio. He did some farming himself for a while and then did cash rent of the farmland.

Steve loved the Lord and was a wonderful, loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and to all his extended family and friends.

He developed and passed away from Alzheimer’s after many years but his kind, caring, loving personality was still able to break through the disease at times.

Extending appreciation and thankfulness to the staff at StoryPoint Memory Care and Paradigm Hospice and Palliative Care for making the last two and half months of his life as comfortable as possible.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday July 25, 2026 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
