Sue Ann Phelps, 62, of Jackson, MI, departed Tuesday February 24, 2009 for her heavenly home surrounded by her high school sweet hart and husband of 45 years and her two sons. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, special daughter and perfect sister. She was a Christian and used her faith in the lord to help her family accept the path that she was going to travel, never questioning or complaining about the outcome. She retired from Michigan Automotive in Jackson, MI after working for 18 years. She valued her family and friends and took delight in the time that she spent with them. She leaves behind her husband Deitrich; sons, Timothy of Jackson, MI and Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, David and Ella Sue; mother, Goldie Smithson of Fort Wayne; brothers, Ron (Bobbie) Smithson of Churubusco, IN, Rodney (Kelly) Smithson of New Haven, IN and Joe Smithson of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Stella (Jack) Walker of Auburn, IN, Rita (Steve) Paine of Orland Park, IL, Carolyn (Christopher) Terry of Jackson, MI and Robin Dell''Aquila of Fort Wayne; And many nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral service Saturday 1 P.M with calling one hour prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Calling also Friday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
