Susan "Sue" Kapp, 70, of Fort Wayne, IN sadly passed away Saturday Feb. 18, 2023 following a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. Her two sons were by her side. Born May 11, 1952 in Fort Wayne, IN, to George "Ed" and Doris Barker, she attended Elmhurst High School where she was involved in cheerleading. Known amongst her friends and family for her upbeat and fun personality, Sue would never shy away from making any moment memorable. She worked as a teacher after graduating from the University of Dayton, later using those skills to instruct fitness classes at the YMCA. She finished her career in the insurance industry making many friends along the way. A natural beauty, many admired and commented on the color of her eyes. Her youthful appearance matched her jovial spirit. She loved spending time at the family lake cottage during summers and never missed a sports meet or show in which her sons were involved. Sue always put other's needs before her own. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her loving sons J.B. Kapp and Bryan (Lindsay) Kapp, her brothers Dan (Maria) Barker and Ted (Cindy) Barker, nieces Stacey (Chris) Barker and Amy (Matt) Sevening, nephews Brandon (Camille) Barker and Ross (Stephanie) Barker, and her three beloved grandchildren Carter Kapp, Owen Kapp, and Ethan Kapp. She was preceded in death by her parents.


A memorial will be held on March 2nd between 1pm-4pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
