Thomas Gernell Franks, Sr., 83, went home to his Lord, September 20, 2017. Tom was born November 3, 1933, in Huntington, to the late Claude and Alta (Farmer) Franks. He retired after 33 years of service with Falstaff and was a member of the County Line Church of God. Along with the late Eunice, Tom donated time to the Lydia''s House in Wauchula, Florida.

Surviving are his three children, Tom Franks, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Tina Valdez Celina, Ohio and Yavonne (Mark) East of Albion; five grandchildren, SPC Michael, Michaela, Amanda, Cassandra, SGT Shawn, 8 great-grandchildren, Blake, Kaden, Sarah, Jacob, Brayden, Stetson, Emma and Joshua; brother, Derry Sharp of Louisiana; and sister, Shirley Schug of Huntington.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Eunice Franks, on July 31, 2012; brothers, Keith "Buzzy" Sharp, Dean Sharp and Claude Franks, Jr.; and a sister, Lois Teagarden;
