Thomas "Tom" James Willhelm, 66, died Saturday, Jan 13, 2007 at home. He was born June 17, 1940 in Toledo, Oh to the late Edward and Ellen Willhelm. He was an employee of General Electric for 37 years making him a member of their Quarter Century club, as well as past president of their Union Local 901. Tom, a Veteran of the United States Air Force from 1960-1964 was a member of the VFW Post 10006, and the American Legion Posts 82 and 499. He was a member and past Chef de Gare of Voiture 37 40/8. Tom loved sports, spending time with his family and all his legion buddies. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his wonderful laugh.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy; sons, James (Lark) Willhelm and Anthony (Cassie) Michael; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Bloom, Cindy Neauhaus, Beckie (Greg) Eshelman and Angela Jencks; step daughters, Jackie and Colleen; grandchildren, William, Crystal, Amanda, Carl, Mickyle, Madison, Caitlyn, Savannah, Kaleb, Kobey and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aden, Amity, and Connor; siblings, Don (Pat), Br. Phillip "Jack", Bill (Pauline), Joe (Nancy), Dot (Jim), Sr. Phyllis "Patty", Mary Jo (Bill), Betty and Peggy (Dick).
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ellen Willhelm, his wife Norah and a sister Jean.
Visitation for Tom is Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd. The Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with one hour of calling before the service. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens on Wednesday following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association.
