Thurman Gibson, 78, died Sunday June 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Born April 13, 1934 to the late Guital and Arizona Gibson. Thurman worked for American Hoist 30 years as an inspector and retired from Hydro-Tech after 8 years as an assembler. Surviving are his wife, Rosetta Gibson, children, Mack, Jeffery (Melinda), Kenneth (Amy), James Gibson, Debra (Joe) Terrell, siblings, Hargis, Willis, Stanley Gibson, Marie Wilson, Jeweldean Mason, Sarah Roberts, Tavia Vanwinkle, Christine Johnson, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 28, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
