Trace David Gallo, 23, of Huntertown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 16, 2003, to José Gallo and Valerie Bloom.

Trace was known for his great sense of humor, love of jokes, and contagious laugh. He was a friend to everyone he met and enjoyed making others smile. Trace was a high school athlete who participated in unified football, track, and basketball. He loved swimming and being in the water and was an excellent putt-putt golfer.

Trace had a kind and gentle nature and inspired many people throughout his life. He volunteered with Science Central and Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, where he served as an honorary docent. He loved nature and all types of animals, with reptiles being his favorite.

Trace is survived by his mother, Valerie (Christopher), and father, José (Shayla); siblings, Tanner Robosky, Koda, Kash, and Kyah Gallo; and maternal grandparents, Deborah (John) Bloom. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Susan Detwiler.

A celebration of Trace’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at Covington Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations in Trace’s honor may be directed to Black Pine Animal Sanctuary or Science Central.
