Vera Lou Caldwell, 80, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at her residence in Independence, KY.  Vera was born March 7, 1940 in Fort Wayne a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma (Baxter) McCall.  She retired from General Electric Motors in Fort Wayne following many years of service. Surviving are her sons, Elinza (Tabitha) Caldwell and Nelson (Karen) Caldwell; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Wilkinson.  Vera was preceded in death by sister, Janice Paul.  Visitation is 4 – 7 PM Friday, August 21, 2020 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Road.  Graveside service is 2 PM Friday September 18, 2020 at Covington Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Allen or Dekalb County ASPCA.
