Vinten Z. Shaver, 88, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
Born August 25, 1934 in Riffle, W.V. He was the son of the late Scott and Lena (Dennison) Shaver.
Vinten retired from DANA in 1998 after 35 and a half years of service. He was a member of the Three Rivers Wesleyan Church.
Vinten was preceded in death by his wife, Joan in 2012 after 55 years of marriage.
Also preceded him in death were his brothers, Forrest, Fountain, Larry, and Clifford and sisters, infant Dayphene, Imogene, InaJune, Elizabeth, Sharron and Janet.
Surviving are children, Connie (Ted) Jackson, Gary (Shelly) Shaver, Steven (Jeanna) Shaver and Michael Shaver; grandchildren, Tammy (Devin) Haifley, Amber Bunch, Heather Shaver, and Nicholas Jackson; great-grandchild, Graystin Bunch; sister, Patty (Robert) Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with calling one hour prior.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 also at the funeral home.
Committal will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Wesleyan Church.
