Violet G. Keener, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, at Lutheran Life Village at Pine Valley.

She was born on April 1, 1934, in Salt Lick, Kentucky to the late Hobart and Mattie Staton. She married Jack Keener, who preceded her in death on August 17, 2012.

Violet enjoyed cooking, family get-togethers, shopping, playing BINGO, working crossword puzzles, seeing the holiday decorations around Fort Wayne, and watching game shows on television. She was known for her strong will and outspoken personality.

She is survived by her children, Debra (Bruce) Preston, John Keener, Paul (Michelle) Keener; seven grandchildren, Matt (Heidi), Jessica, Rachelle (Marcus) Ricketts, Bruce Jr., Daniel (Erica) Collin, Noah; 14 great-grandchildren, Kodi, Kaleb, Diego, Eve, Yasmine, Emma, Makensi, Novali, Jackson, Stellan, Evangeline, Kaylah, Jashuan, Arlo; two great-great grandchildren soon to be here and a brother, Melburn (Ann) Staton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, and eight siblings.

Violet will be remembered for her strong personality and the time she enjoyed spending with her family
