Virginia Torres, 75, went to join her husband in heaven on Monday September 19, 2011 at Parkview Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tyler, Texas October 22, 1935 to the late George and Geneva Pompa. Virginia along with Albert was co-owner operator of La Favorita Restaurant for 20 years. She also worked in the Parkview Hospital Cafeteria as a cook for 20 years. Surviving are children, Jenevieve (Dan Baird) Torres, Ft. Wayne, IN, Sam (Andrea) Torres, Ft. Wayne, IN, Carlos Torres, Fremont, IN, Julian Torres, Ft. Wayne, IN, 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Julia, Jacqueline, Janelle, Rachel and Sam and 8 great-grandsons, Brayden, Kevin, Evan, Casen, Maddox, Laken, Jace, and Jordan, sister, Mary Gloria Ybarra, Ft. Wayne, IN, several nieces and nephews. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Albert Torres and brother, Rudy Bernal. Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday September 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 2213 Brooklyn Ave. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Thursday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
