Obituary

Vivian A. Chaney, 95 of Fort Wayne passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Georgetown Place in Fort Wayne. She was born October 28, 1929, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Bultemeier) Greiner. She married Richard Chaney; he preceded in death.

Vivian was a graduate from Concordia Lutheran High School. She retired from Summit City Insurance Counselors and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She loved arts, crafts, oil painting and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her sons, Craig C. (Carolyn) Chaney of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Paul K. (Cindy) Chaney of Nashville, Tennessee, Mark Chaney of Fort Wayne and a daughter, Sue (Kent) McLeroth of Newbury, Massachusetts, many grandchildren and a sister, Sandra (Ron) Heilman of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard and a sister Doris Dreyer.

There will be a time of sharing with the family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will take place Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Covington Memorial Gardens.

In keeping with the families wishes, they ask that instead of flowers, a donation to the Dementia Society of America, www.dementiasociety.org, be made in memory of Vivian.
