Vivian Swopshire, 69, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Summit City Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in St. Louis, MO, Vivian was a daughter to the late Curtis and Hazel B. (Hilliard) Swopshire-Walker. She graduated high school in Fort Wayne, IN. Vivian was a member of Providence Baptist Church and served as an usher. She enjoyed dancing, watching T.V. and all kinds of music. Surviving are her children, Michael Thomas, Darnell Swopshire and Zachary Swopshire; brothers, Curtis (Sheila) Swopshire Jr., Curtis (Deborah) Jones and Terangi (Brenda) Phifer; sisters, Sally (Dandrae Douse) Swopshire, Tammie Swopshire, Deartha Swopshire, Etta (Brit) Walker-Scott and Allison (Kenneth Belcher) Walker; Aunts, Shirley Bartlett, Juestean Miller, Louisa Malone and Martiss Banks; Uncle, Quintin Hilliard; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Vivian was also preceded in death by her brother, Derrick Swopshire; sister, Barbara Swopshire; step-father, Charie Walker; and step-mother, Canary Bolds-Swopshire.
