Walter F. Voigt, 79, of Fort Wayne passed away December 23.  He was born April 6, 1942 in Fort Wayne to the late Walter and Ethel (France) Voigt.

Walt was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne and graduated from New Haven High School 1960. On September 30 of 1967 he married his sweetheart, Marcyle (Volz) Voigt and together they raised two children.  Walt worked for Vulcraft for 30 years as a head welder and inspector before he retired.  He was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America, serving for a while as the Committee Treasurer.  However, Walt was most proud of attaining the rank of 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed working with them immensely.  Above all, Walt loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

Walt is survived by his wife, Marcyle; children, Peter Voigt and Melinda Voigt; siblings, Jim (Kay) Voigt and Ann (Gary) Silvers; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Monday, January 3 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN  46825, with visitation one hour prior to service.
