Walter W. Zent, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center with family at his side. Born here in Fort Wayne to the late Eldon and Francis (Engleman) Zent. He retried from International Harvester after 36 years of service and also attended St. Michael''s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his son, Rocky (Mary Lou) Zent of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Margie Dennie, Ruth Bolinger, Donna Dawson and Juanita Gillenwater; one brother, Jim Zent; three grandchildren, Danny (Marie) Zent, Rachele (Joe) Zimecki and Cara (Tim) Bollinger; four great grandchildren, Larissa (Mark) Basconcillo and David Zent and Rayanna and Gia Zimecki; and Enrique Arguello who was like a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis A. Zent, in December of 2010; and son, Danny Zent, in 1997; two sisters, Betty Mills and Rosie Dawson; and three brothers, Eldon, Lloyd and Chuck Zent.
Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
