Obituary

Wanda "Jean" (Fry) Lahrman, 92, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2022.  She was born in Convoy, Ohio on August 11, 1929, the daughter of the late Ralph and Verona Fry.

Her family moved to Fort Wayne, in 1942 where she graduated from South Side High School.  She married Clarence Lahrman, Jr. in 1948 and they enjoyed almost 47 years of happiness which included raising their wonderful family of four children.  Jean retired from Lutheran Hospital in 2009 after previously retiring as secretary of Peace Lutheran Church in 1998.  She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Lutheran Life Village Auxiliary and Fort Wayne Turners where she was a past president of the Auxiliary, 1967-68 and 1971-73, and past president of the National Auxiliary of American Turners, 1976-80.  She is also a past member of American Legion Post #296 Auxiliary.  Jean volunteered for several organizations including LLV, Red Cross, Lutheran Hospital, IOPO, and Indiana District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.  She was also an avid sports fan, her favorites being Colts football, Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers baseball and IU basketball.

Surviving are her son, Jay (Debbie) Lahrman; daughters, Cathy (Evan) Galey, and Erin (Dan) Newport; daughter-in-law, Cindy Lahrman; grandchildren, Shayna, Carrie, Abbie, Joshua, Ashley, Amanda, Brok, Lyndsy, Boomer, and Adam; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence F. Lahrman, Jr. "Junior" in 1994; son, C. F. "Rick" Lahrman III; grandsons, Beau Lahrman, and Joseph Van Wald; a great grandson; one brother, and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 202 W Rudisill Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46807.

Family will receive friends Monday, February 28 from 10:00am - 12:00pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 202 West Rudisill Boulevard, Fort Wayne, IN  46807, with service to begin at 12:00pm.
