Wayne A. Fritz 94, died Friday November 11, 2016. He was born August 8, 1922 in Ft. Wayne to the late Andrew and Carolyn (Byerley) Fritz. He was a graduate of North Side High School and Wayne was owner of the Wayne A. Fritz Trim Carpentry Co. for 40 years. He was a member of the Ft. Wayne Baptist Church, an Army Veteran of WWII, a Purple Heart recipient while in the European Theater and a gunner in an Army Tank Destroyer, and for 50 years Wayne served in the Allen County Sheriff''s Reserves.

Surviving are his children, Thomas (Linda) Fritz, Carol (Mike) Perry, sister Joan Carpenter 3 grandchildren, Adam Perry, Ryan Fritz and Amy Wogomon and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ellen Fritz in 2012 and 2 siblings, Lavern Fritz and Evelyn Marquis.

Funeral service will be Thursday November 17, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. There will also be viewing Wednesday November 16, 2016 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorial are to Ft. Wayne Baptist Church or Parkview Hospice.
