Wayne E. Scrogham, 83, passed away on April 14, 2026. Born in Fort Wayne, IN on January 26, 1943, he was the son of Vilas and Alice (Reinking) Scrogham.
He graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1960 and from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN in 1964. He joined and was honorably discharged from the Indiana Army National Guard. He worked as a salesman at Wayne Hardware and later at National Mill Supply. He was also a Real Estate Broker for many years at Scrogham Realty and met his real estate friends every Friday morning for breakfast. He was a huge IU football and basketball fan. He enjoyed classic cars and was a founding member and officer for the Rolling 50's Car Club, later changed to the Fort Wayne Rolling Classics. He looked forward to Saturday mornings at local diners for breakfast with his boys and other family members.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 22 years and his children: Thomas (Brandy) Scrogham and Stephen (Amy) Scrogham and grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua (Rozenna), Emma, Katharine, Andrew, and bonus children: Michael and Kimberly Massing. He is also survived by his brothers: Kenneth (Mary) Scrogham, Lynn (Sharon) Scrogham and his favorite sister, Nancy Gerow.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 at 11:00am with a memorial visitation one hour prior.
