Wayne Winter, 74, went "Finally Home" on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was born on May 24, 1943 in Longmont, CO to the late Harold D. and Marie Winter. Wayne retired from the Whitley County Consolidated School System after 38 years of service. He was a member of Christ''s Community Church.

Survivors are his wife Charlotte, sons, Todd (Angie), Thad (Rebecca), brother David (Carol) Winter and grandchildren, Emma, Natalie, and Gretchen.

Funeral service is at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Christ''s Community Church, 10616 Liberty Mills Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46804, with calling from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is also calling Wednesday, October 4, at the church from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the Ft. Wayne Rescue Mission or the church. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
