William R. Alday (aka Dick or Bill) 91 years old, passed away July 4, 2021 at his home in Las Vegas, NV. He was born in Decatur, IL to Donald and Alice Alday on June 20, 1930. He had two sisters that proceeded him in death. Dick was a steadfast family man, who loved his family more than anything. He lived life, didn't let obstacles hold him down. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather providing love and support to all.
Dick is survived by his spouse Linda Alday of Las Vegas, NV, son Raymond Alday and spouse Anne of Ft. Wayne, In and Daughter Kathy Alday and spouse Brenda of Las Vegas, NV. Along with his grandchildren, Timothy Leitch, Amber Kluesner, Brittany Crago and husband Dan, and Cassandra Alday, great grandchildren Odailen, Dalstyn, Gracelyn, Brayden, Bryce and Jaxon. He was also a friend and father figure to Kashmire.
He loved upper Michigan, he took numerous vacations there, making sure his friends and family all went along. He enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains, Grand Canyon, Continental Divide and his last scenic trip to Mt. Rushmore.
He spent his last ten months in Las Vegas with his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law and dear friend or companion in crime David Heckman. He enjoyed all the finer things in life, laughter, teasing and the great weather sitting on the patio.
Dick is a Veteran of the US Army, serving 1947 through 1950 in the Korean War. He was a business owner, retired from Essex Wire after 30 years and spent several years working at Walmart in shipping and receiving.
Dick will be laid to rest on Wednesday July 14, 2021
Covington Memorial Garden, 8408 Covington Rd, FT. Wayne, IN.
Viewing will be from 11:00 am and 1:00 pm
Service will be at 1:00 pm
